Directions from Lisbon Airport to Moinho-Velho.

On leaving the airport take the A12 signposted to the 'Algarve', over the Ponte Vasco de Gama and follow the signs 'Lisbon to Palmela'. At Palmela turn left onto the A2 - IP1 and after 20 km at the major junction continue on the A2 - IP1, signposted for the Algarve.

At  junction 9 turn onto the IC33, which is signposted  for Santiago and Sines. Pass through the toll and after 15km, just after the top of a hill where the road reduces again to one lane, turn off to the right, signposted to 'Melides'.  Immediately there is a T junction, turn left onto the N261 - 2. Passing through the village of Valhino do Estada, you will see the Lagoa de Melides in the distance.  

Passing through Melides, follow the sign for Sines and Santiago in the centre of the village and turn right at the next T junction, signposted Comporta. 200 metres up the hill turn left at the sign for 'Turismo Rural' and 'Cemiterio'. Moinho Velho is 1.5 km along this sandy road on the right hand side
